Here’s a title they won’t win!
Former Manchester United team-mates Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville swapped their boots for frying pans ahead of the launch of their new restaurant.
Giggs and Neville took part in a cook-off at the Westfield Stratford City shopping centre in London to celebrate the opening of Cafe Football. The pair were pitted against the resturant’s executive chef, Brendan Fyldes and two-starred Michelin chef Michael Wignall at the football-themed venue. The United heroes showcased three of the venue’s signature dishes, including Nev’s Noodle Pot, Wignall’s Halftime Orange and the Chocolate Pistachio Turf.
Nevile said: “The coof-off was the perfect opportunity for shoppers at the Westfield Stratford City to see exactly what we have planned for Cafe Football. The signature dishes we cooked capture the essence of what Cafe Football has to offer. It’s all about quality food with a nod to the sport we all feel so passionately about.”
Giggs commented: “It was great to see just how much excitement and buzz there is surrounding the opening of Cafe Football. We can’t wait to officially open the doors and welcome customers in.”
The restaurant will open its doors in December.
