Arsenal & Spain super-star Santi Cazorla announced as patron of Football Beyond Borders

London-based youth charity, Football Beyond Borders, have clinched the star signing of Arsenal footballer Santi Cazorla as a new patron of the organisation.

Cazorla, a European cup winner with Spain and one of the Premier League’s top stars, follows in the footsteps of Sky Sports reporter Guillem Balague, who has been patron of the charity since October last year.

The announcement marks a period of expansion for the charity, which is now delivering high quality coaching and education sessions to students in some of London’s most underachieving schools.

Balague said: “I am delighted that Santi has agreed to join the team. His journey towards football stardom is an inspiration to our young people and a clear example of the merits of hard work and commitment.

“He is already looking forward to getting involved in the charity’s hugely worthwhile projects.”

To celebrate the announcement, Football Beyond Borders will be putting on a charity fundraising dinner with Santi Cazorla and Guillem Balague on the 9th of April, hosted at the prestigious Café Football restaurant in London.

The venue, owned by former Manchester United legends Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs, will host a three-course dinner, a Q & A session with Cazorla and Balague, as well as a fundraising auction of sporting memorabilia and exclusive prizes.

All proceeds will go towards raising funds for Football Beyond Borders school tours to Spain and Germany and for FBB TV – the charity’s unique new youth-led media platform – ensuring that some of London’s most disadvantaged youth are able to broaden their horizons through the power of football.

Café Football will also be partnering with the youth football charity for the long term.

The venue’s general manager, Liz Reece, said “Café Football London is thrilled to be working with Football Beyond Borders not only in hosting their dinner but as an ongoing partnership. We understand and believe in everything they aim to achieve and want to play an integral role in their future development.

“This partnership symbolises not only our love for the game but our belief that everything the beautiful game inspires can actually lead to a change in the lives of the people who play it.”

Tickets for the event are available via table bookings of 4, 6 or 10 people. There are also a limited number of individual tickets available. All tickets will cost £50 per head (plus booking fee) and include a 3-course meal, canapés and a drink.
